Many people wonder after laminating documents: Can you still write on them?
The answer is: Yes, but it depends on the pen and the film.
Today, we'll discuss writing on laminated documents and help you choose the right method to avoid damaging the documents and make them easier to erase.
1. Can you write on them with a regular pen?
If you use a ballpoint pen, fountain pen, or pencil on the laminate film, you'll hardly be able to write on it, and any writing that does come off easily.
Because the laminating film's surface is smooth, regular ink can't penetrate it, making it difficult to adhere.
2. What pens can write on laminating film?
Whiteboard markers: They're very suitable, writing on them and erasing easily. They're often used for temporary content like meeting boards and menus.
Oil-based markers: They can be written on, and they don't easily come off, but they're difficult to erase. They're suitable for long-term marking. Erasable pens: There are some specialized pens available for laminated and whiteboard applications that can both write and erase cleanly, providing better results.
3. Different laminating films offer different effects.
Matte film: It has greater friction, making it easier for ink to adhere and providing better writing results.
Glossy film: It has a smoother surface, but writing can easily smudge or erase.
Tip: If you frequently write on laminated documents, choose a matte erasable film, such as whiteboard film, for clear writing and clean erasing.
4. What to do if you need to erase?
Whiteboard markers: Wipe with a dry cloth or a whiteboard wipe.
Oil-based markers: Use alcohol or a special detergent.
Stubborn marks: Gently wipe with an eraser or soft cloth dampened with a small amount of cleaning solution.
5 . Suitable for writing
Meeting minutes: Laminated documents can be used as whiteboards, making it easy to write and erase repeatedly.
Menu updates: After laminating, restaurant menus can be modified at any time using a whiteboard marker. Teaching tools: After the teaching cards are laminated, students can practice writing repeatedly.
